Post subject:  Questions on original Vagabond

I have a couple quick questions on the original Vagabond 1:

1) I know the manual says that the grounding rod is necessary - is that still the case? I ask only because newer systems (i.e. VML) don't seem to need one and I'm wondering if that is due to a different design or if the risk was determined to be small enough that it just wasn't necessary.

2) Do you by chance have the dimensions of the battery handy? I would like to see if I can find a replacement locally to avoid shipping charges but don't have mine available right now.

Thanks!

It is not really necessary. If you are in a really high RF environment, then you will want to, but in normal usage, you can forego the grounding rod.

The demensions of the battery are below
15cmW x 9cmD x 9.5cmH
