Guys, my sync cable is not working anymore (connects an AB1600 to a PW Plus II). Unfortunately my local photo store doesnt carry that cable and I need something for tonight. I heard I could use a mono 1/8 to a mono 1/8 from radioshack but I also heard that sometimes because of the lenght (6ft) this might not work? can someone deny/confirm or give me any suggestions?

Thanks!

You can use them in very long lengths. In the days before radio remotes, sports photographers ran sync cords to the rafters for triggering (a "stage hand" cuting this cord is what spurred the Pocket Wizards).

What you will need to be aware of is:
A- the cord is a mono cord. Most, if not all Pocket Wizards have a stereo connection. This will not play nice with the Alien Bees.

B- The cord you use must not be attenuating. Essentially, attenuation will filter out the pulse sent by the remote, and the light will not recieve it.

To my knowlege, the only cords offered by Radio Shack that fit this bill are at least 6' long.
