I don't think that I saw this usage in the literature....worked out fine, but wondered if I might create a problem by doing so? Light painting with an Einstein and retro laser on a rock formation ≈150 yds away and a 20 to 30 second exposures to pick up the stars in the background. The einstein fired initially when the shutter was released and then continued to fire at a regular interval thoughout the rest of the exposure. It fired 4 times for a 30 second shot and three times during a 20 second shot. I was suprised at what little power was needed to light paint the rocks. I wouldn't think there would be a problem, but wondered. + I was using a mini vagabond for power. Jim |

Are you saying that the flash went off by it's self? Seems to me with exposures that long you don't need to have the Einstein connected to the camera. Just open your shutter, then push the test button on the Einstein how ever many times you want to get your foreground exposure. RMS |

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all about their performance. The Einsteins worked very well with the long exposures. |

Same thing is happening to me. I have a cybersync transmitter on my D700 and the CSXCV on my einstein. I would love for the flash to go off one time, but it repeatedly keeps going off. It's kind of a pain to have to click the test button, especially if the flash is very far away from my camera while I am light painting. What happens is: the einstein pops off when the shutter is clicked and keeps popping off over and over throughout a 20-30 second long exposure. Is there any kind of fix for this? Thanks, Photojoe |

Are you using the CST or CC in the hotshoe when doing long exposure? The CST will fire ince every 9 seconds when the circuit is closed. I would have to test the CC to see if the same exists in it. |

Just didn't want to hurt the system. Thanks. |
