Hey, I am from Germany and we have 230V. I already have 2 Einstein 640 flashes and now I would like to order a Vagabond Mini. But I am not sure which voltage version is the best for me? Do you may have a suggestion which Vagabond Mini version (110 or 230V) is the best solution for using a Einstein flash in Germany? Is there any difference for 110 V/230 V version connected to an Einstein flash in flash recycle time or number of pops? To have 230 V available is not important for me, because most of my electronic staff works well with 110 V Thank you very much...Ralph |

If it were me, I would get a 230V version. You will likely have fewer problems running other devices that may not have universal voltage. However, there would be little real world difference on either VML running an Einstein. Be aware, however, either VML you choose will require a cord that is not used in Europe. Even if you get the 230 VML, you will need a power cord that uses the type I connection. |

Hello! I have the same question :) 1. TS, have you solved recycle time problems of 230V VML (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1622)? I monitor that thread, but there are no updates from September. 2. Are there plans to create VML with standard european plug (not Type I) ? Best regards, Boris |

We are still looking at the initial start up recycling, however no changes have been made as of yet. We have not had many complaints from users in the field regarding the initial recycle. As for the plug style, we adopted the type I connection for form factor reasons. There were no Schuko sockets that would have fit the design. We do offer accessory cords that fit the 230V VML, additionally a suitable grounded plug adapter from a travel store would also work. |

Sorry, English is not my native language and I am not sure, that I understood everything correctly about warming time. 1. Do I have to warm VML each time I use it or only while it is new? 2. Does this problem affect every 230v VML or only some percent? Is there any statistic? 3. Can you write some more details, why would you choose 230V VML version? All 230 VMLs will exhibit this. The inverter does not have to warm up to begin use, though the recycle times are longer in the first few minutes. Once warmed up, the recycle times drop to the point of those obtained by the 120V VML. If you are only using Einsteins, then either VML will be fine. However, should you get another light; whether purchased, gifted, borrowed, or rented; it will be less likely to run off 120VAC power, and more likely to run on the 230 VML. Also, after every major power outage causing storm, we get emails stating how people used the Vagabonds for cell phones, radios, coffee pots, etc. While many chargers can runn off either voltage, radios and such are often either/or. |
