My question is:

Does the unit come charged before shipping?


The reason why I ask this is that I tried to plug it in the other day to charge it for the first time.. there was no red light or green light, actually there was no light on for charging at all. So, I hooked up my Einstein to it and the pack had a charge on it.

Any suggestions...? Or should I just drain the battery pack for the first time?

The light is on the charger, not the VML. It will turn green when you plug the charger into the power outlet. When you connect the charger to a discharged battery or directly to the VML, the light will turn red until the battery is fully charged.

They ship with some charge in them. There's never a need to drain the battery prior to recharging.
