That's a hard question to answer in the way it was asked. The CyberSync system can trigger your camera's shutter (with limitations). Pocket Wizards can also trigger your camera's shutter. However, CyberSyncs (incl. Cyber Commander) operate with a different frequency and encoding than Pocket Wizard, so the TT1 or any other Pocket Wizard would not respond to a signal sent from any CyberSync component. you will need to contact Pocket Wizard about the capabilities of thier remotes. To achieve this with CyberSync, you will need a transmitter (CC is overkill, but would work, CST will also work) in hand and a reciever connected to the camera dedicated to triggering the camera. These need to be on a frequency dedicated to triggering the camera. If lights are also used, a transmitter in the hotshoe and one or more recivers dedicated to the lights are required. These need to be on thier own dedicated frequency. You will need a pre-release cable, such as the ones found here: http://www.flashzebra.com/shutter_pw/po ... plus.shtml You will need to use CAF or MF focusing, and set your camera to release priority if available. CyberSyncs will not initiate AF. CSRB's have worked for every camera we have tested with. CSRB+'s seem to work fine with Sony and Canon, but are not happy on Nikon or Pentax cameras. If you have two brands of remotes, you can use one brand for the camera and teh other for the lights. |

I have a similar question, but with Yongnau RF-602's, so I hope it's ok to post it here. I currently have elinchrom strobes and a Skyport transmitter, but am switching to Einsteins / Cyber Commander + CST and am hoping I can still trigger remotely (camera and strobes) with what I have and am ordering. Currently, this is how I do it: One RF-602 RX (channel 1) attached to the the camera's shutter release via cord One RF-602 TX (channel 1) in hand to initiate AF and release the shutter One RF-602 TX (channel 2) in camera hot shoe to propagate signal to strobes One RF-602 RX (channel 2) with the Skyport TX attached to RX's hot shoe to fire strobes Would this same configuration work with Einsteins (fitted with CSXCV's) by simply substituting a CST in place of the Skyport? Yes. The CST does not care how the camera is tripped when the CST gets its signal from the hotshoe. As long as the camera triggers the hotshoe, it will trigger the CST. If it works for a skyport or RF602, then it will work for a CST as far as a camera triggering flashes. |
