Post subject:  cyber commander light meter help

ok on my cyber commander i really just started realising that the dome is a light meter for it and well it just shows f90.1 or <f1 and im just trying to see if im doing something wrong or if there is something else wrong with it. also the reason i just realised it is because i really just started actually caring about theratios of my lights

First, what firmware are you running? You should have at least v.39 installed. You can check this by removing and reinstalling a battery. The firmware version will flash on the screen.

Go to SETUP>FLASHMETER. In the upper left corner, verify the shutter speed and ISO are set correctly. This is default 1/250 and ISO 100. Use the left joystick to change any parameters. In the upper right corner, make sure it says CAL +0.0f. If not, use the right joystick up or down until it is correct.

Also, when you are metering, be sure the CC is at the subject's position and aimed back toward the light.

If you are not getting reasonable exposures after these steps, go to SETUP>ADVANCED CONFIGURATION>FACTORY CALIBRATION. In the lower left, you will see <>REVERT. Press the left joystick left or right to restore the factory calibration.

If you are still not able to get a reasonable reading, we may need to service the Commander.
