Hey folks, I wonder if anyone can comment on the difference between the pre 2009 11R and the newer 11LTR. From what I can see the newer version is deeper/longer and has a polished interior.

I own 12 Ultra 1200s with the original 11" sports reflector and I am considering upgrading to the x1600s (the Ultras are beginning to fail) and I am wondering if it's worth upgrading the reflector too. Several of my arenas have upgraded lights and we are now struggling to overcome ambient, so if there is an improvement I will likely try the new ones out.

Thanks,
Shane

There will be a higher output, but a smaller beam spread. Don't forget you will also be upping the output by the light upgrade as well.

Any idea what the spread on my reflectors (the old ones) are? I know that the new ones are 28 degrees. It's a college arena, but the catwalks are low and far back from the court. I probably have a bit more spill than I would like, but not by much.

There is only a 60ws difference between the 1200 and 1600 correct? That's assuming my 1200s actually hit full output, which is unlikely.

The old 11R was about 45 degree spread. And yes, there is only a 60Ws difference.

Thanks guys, so hopefully between the 10% power increase and the new reflectors I should be able to gain maybe a full stop?

Thanks,
Shane

I would say 1/2 to 3/4 of a stop, assuming the Ultras were performing properly.
