Any other recommendations?

What ever I use must be:
* TSA approved and carry-on.
* Hard Case
* Lighter than the Pelican 1510.
* Have enough extra space for my VML.

If the inside dimensions are the same as the Pelican 1510, then the answer would be yes. The 1510 can hold 4 Einstein's if you remove the umbrella screws, but it's a tight fit.

I can easily fit 3 Einsteins, 2 VML's, 2 spare VML batteries, a spare DSLR body, 2 Speedlites with external battery packs, and there's still room for a bit more.

It has TSA locks built in, and is carry-on size for US domestic flights.

It is a soft case but rugged and well-padded.

Weighs 12-14 pounds empty.

I decided to pull the trigger on the Pelican 1510 (Thanks BigIronCruiser).

Why?

I liked the bulletproof, Kryptonite case, it is carry-on, has wheels, and it hugs my Einsteins nice and soft.

So, my son and I sat done one night and engineered it to accommodate:
[*] 3 Einsteins
[*] 1 Cyber Commander
[*] 3 CSXCV

Pelican cases are awesome. I had two 1510's slide out of the bed of my pickup doing about 20 mph. One was packed with 2 cameras, 2 lenses, 3 speed lights, PW's, etc.. The other one had 2 Einsteins and 2 VML's. Made me sick when I discovered what happened, but the Pelicans saved the day. Only damage was a cracked focus-assist cover on a SB-900. Glad I didn't have those cheap Chinese cases.

Are you transporting them in Pelicans or ???

Here's my solution: the LowePro 650 AW case.

+: sturdy, high-quality construction
+: small, considering its capacity
+: lighter than hard cases
+: easy to carry (handles, strap)
+: extra storage compartments for accessories

-: not inexpensive

The inside of the case easily holds 3 Einsteins and 3 VMLs, with plenty of room left over for CyberSync components and other accessories. There is also 3 inches of space above the top of the gear and below the lid; this space is intended for a notebook computer (for which a well-padded sleeve is included.)

The external side pockets hold the Einstein power cords and VML chargers; the external front pocket can hold additional accessories.

I really like that case and the fit of all the lights. It would be great if it was a hard case though because that one offers no real protection from impact or drops. It's nice for a general storage bag though.

For me, it provides adequate protection for lugging the gear around town to location shoots ... but I certainly wouldn't give it to an airline as checked baggage.
