Hi, I have Einsteins and a lot of PCB modifiers. I need to use a cool light source for some videos that I am shooting. Anyone know of a Fluorescent Light head that can use the PCB Light Modifiers. Thanks a lot. Michael Tapes |

There are no flourescent lights that have the Balcar mount. However, that does not mean there is not a way to mount some modifiers (using adapters) to continuous lighting. What modifiers are you most concerned about? |

Assuming you are using the foldable style softboxes, each of the boxes have an inner speed ring that can be removed and replaced. On the foldable boxes, the diameter of this inner ring is about 5.5" across. The below lists are of inner rings that are or I suspect are the same diameter. If you find a light kit that uses one of these mounts, you can just replace the inner ring. We have fitted one of these to our boxes: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?at ... 4291279785 These are purported to fit, but we have not verified http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?at ... 4194470318 I would not be surprised if these also work, but have not tested them http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?at ... 4289266287 If you are using non foldable boxes, then the speedring is fairly standard, and you should be able to find appropriate speedrings to mate the lights to the box. |

I am using collapsible modifiers. Thanks so much for the info! Very much appreciated. Happy holidays.. Just one last question...The links go to a full page of adapters. Are you saying that all will work or the Balcar models? Thanks again. |

Not really. The outer speedring is "universal-ish", then you install an adapter ring into it. Ours ship with the Balcar version. You would loosen the four nuts on the back, remove the balcar ring, and install a new ring. The new rings then mount to the light. The would not interface with the balcar ring itself. The Photek adapter rings fit inplace of the adapter rings installed on the softboxes. The others have been rumoured to fit or have specs similar to ones that fit (this information would have been found elsewhere, and not readily apparent on B&H's site). There also may be other that fit, but I do not have further info as to which ones. |

I should qualify the testing we did on the Photek rings. They fit, however, I cannot speak of long term application of a heavy load. |
