Post subject:  CyberSync system and triggering cameras (like PW relay)

After a search of the forum I saw a post from a year ago stating it was not planned to add camera trigger capabilities to CyberSync. Still the case? Ideal would be a relay mode like POcket Wizard that allows the camera to be fired remotely and keeps the lighting trigger in sync.

I currently use the Einsteins with the Power MC2 PW interfaces and trigger the strobes from the PW FlexTT5 mounted in the hotshoe and also meter with the PW-enabled Sekonic L358. always in manual with lighting though I would like to remotely adjust power and am looking at CyberSync or perhaps using the PW AC3 to remotely dial in power.

A huge plus would be to trigger the camera remotely as well. Any plans? or should I stay with Pocket Wizard for that.

We are not changing any functionality in the Cyber Sync system to specifically accomodate camera triggering. In the current design, camera triggering is possible, with some limitations. Regardless of the method used, you will need a signal dedicated to triggering the camera, and a signal dedicated to triggering the flash(es).

Option 1 for me is to use my hotshoe mounted PW Flex TT5 with a cable into the body to trigger the camera which the Flex will relay up to the strobes. On top of the PW Flex I can mount the PW AC3 for remote power level control. Another PW (Plus, mini TT1 or Flex TT5) can be a remote trigger when needed.

Option 2 would be to use the Cyber Sync Commander as meter and remote control for the power levels with a CST Trigger Transmitter in the hotshoe mounted ABOVE a remote trigger like the hotshoe mounted $30 compact YongNuo RF603 with cable into the body (when remote triggger is needed).

As I'm not satisfied with the range of the PW-enabled Sekonic meter I will be testing option 2 out next week and picking up from you the CyberSync pieces today.
