I've had 2 of my lights go out recently. Both have been since I replaced the flash tubes (with the ones from paul buff) in the past 2 months or so. The problem is that they just pop really loudly, even when they aren't plugged in and are not flashing at all. They won't flash when I press the test button, regardless of what power they are on. They won't flash remotely either. Also, one of the lights turns itself off (the red button on the back) almost immediately after turning it on. It doesn't pop anymore, it won't do anything other than turn itself off (as in the red switch literally moves itself back to the off position). Both of these lights were working fine and then all of a sudden stopped working. They were both being used with the vagabond mini battery at the time as well.

Please help!!!!
Thanks,
Kristi

By this, do you mean the lights were plugged in and then were unplugged and making this noise? Please elaborate on this statement. Are both units doing this?

With the new tubes, did they pop louder when fired than with the old tubes?

I mean that they make the loud pop plugged in and also unplugged. Only one is doing this now. The one that keeps turning itself off won't do anything anymore.

No, they seemed to pop the same loudness as before I changed the flash tubes out.

If they are popping on thier own (I presume the sound is internal to the light), then I would suspect the capacitors are faulty and the units should be sent in for review.
