I'm just wondering if it is possible to gel strobes while using other light modifiers such as the beauty dish, softboxes, umbrellas, etc? Or does it only work with the mainframe with the gel holders or on the 7" reflector with the clips? |

it is possible, use bigger gels! 8-) Seriously, some modifiers, like beauty dishes would need bigger gels. Softboxes can use really big gels on the front, or you can clip smaller gels (though bigger than what we offer) inside where the box starts to taper. Umbrellas can be gelled by poking a hole in the gel, and taping/clipping the gel to the reflector. Larger gels can be purchased through B&H, Adorama and the like, or even at a local stage lighting store. Rolls of gel material is available as well. |
