| Post subject: | 86 inch PLM working distance |
I recently bought a 86 inch soft silver PLM to use on location and have been getting some beautiful skin tones on Nikon. I wondered if there was any advice on optimum working distance from a subject? My practice with a softbox is to position it as close as possible to the subject, generally just out of frame. But given the nature of the PLM, is there such a thing as too close? |

Not really. But you'll have to dial the power down quite low. |

No problem with power, I'm using speedlights and an Elinchrom Quadra both of which will power down low enough. I did some work yesterday with the subject practically inside the PLM. This is a very interesting modifier. |
