I'm wondering if I can use my new Nikon D40 (using the Nikon AS-15 accessory shoe adapter so I can attach a synch cord) with the White Lightning Portait Package (3 X800s) without harming the camera.

Yes, the sync voltage from any of our current lights is <6V. This is safe for all cameras.
