Help! No matter what buttons I press on the back of the Alien Bees B800, the output of light is the same... FULL POWER. I have slid the power adjuster in the back to lowest and highest capacity, pressed and unpressed the track and other buttons and nothing seems to lessen the power output. I have had this about 3-4 years and only within the last few months have I not been able to adjust the power. It's frustrating because that means in the studio I have to adjust the camera settings to f22 to compensate for the fact I have too much light. Does anyone know how to make the Alien Bees light flash more dimly? or do I just have a faulty model?

If there is something plugged into the RJ11 (telephone) jack, remove it and see if control returns to the slider. If nothing is plugged into the RJ11, then the slider is probably faulty, and will need to come in for service. Estimated cost would be $40 or so for most repairs, including domestic return shipping.
