I have a couple of the WL10000 "coffee cans" I did not get sync cables when I bought them. I see that they have what appears to be a 1/4" headphone type jack for sync. If this is indeed the case, what plugs are used - mono (tip and ring) or stereo (tip, ring, center)?

Thanks!

Originally, they came with a stero end, with tip positive, ring negative, sleeve open configuration. These cords can be found here: http://www.paulcbuff.com/sc.php
These are recommended for this type of light, as a mono cord can lead to adverse effects if the AC outlet used is mis wired.

Great - that's what I needed to know. Lastly, I imagine that the tip & ring associated terminals are used and there is no connection on the sleeve terminal. Would that be right? I want to use them with radio triggers, so a very short (12" or less even) cord is all I need.

Thanks again!

Steve

Yes, the sleeve needs to be isolated from the others. The other end (for your remote) needs to be mono or a stereo connection with the ring and sleeve joined. If you use a stereo connection with, say, a MultiMax or other remote that supports AF for camera triggering, there can be issues with which contacts close.
