Hi. I own two Einsteins and 2 alien bee 800s. I just ordered a couple of the new PocketWizard Plus III Transceivers and they should arrive next week. Will the new Transceivers work with these lights? Is there anything special I need to do to get them to work? Thanks.

Michael

While we have not tested those specifically, all PocketWizard products have triggered our lights, and we have no reason to assume otherwise with these. I am confident they have tested with our lights before finalizing the design.

That said, you will need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm (a.k.a. 1/8" to 1/8") mono non-attenuating cord, such as our CSSC: http://www.paulcbuff.com/cssc.php

Stereo cords may not work due to contacts mismatching, and attenuating cords (like the short Radio Shack cords) tend to filter the fire command (Radio Shack has longer cords which will work).

Hi,

Any update on this? Is the Pocketwizard Plus III compatible with the Einsteins?

I am on the verge of ordering some Einsteins and already have one Pocketwizard Plus III. I can go either way by getting Cybersync's or Pocketwizard Plus III as the triggers. I don't need/like TTL (shoot with Canon 60D and T2i) so I am not considering the PowerMC2.

Thanks,

Yes, people use them all the time. My post above was a general disclaimer that we cannot be responsible should any incompatibilities arise. Given that remotes are their core business, it is fairly safe to assume they will work with any light that can be triggered remotely.
