I have an A B 800, had it for a year and worked perfectly, The bulb finally burned out and when I changed it and turned it on the bulb just when into a continuous flashing mode, I had bought two bulbs so I changed to the second one. It to flashed out of control and then stoped and worked for a few times correctly. When I last turned it on again it again flashed out of control and then nothing... Any thoughts?? thanks Steve |

does this happen even if nothing is plugged into the sync or remote jacks? What, if anything, is currently plugged into the sync or remote jacks? Radio remote? What kind? Sync cord? Is the light plugged directly into the wall, or are you using a power strip or extension cord? |

Hi, I took the unit off the floor and unplugged the sync cord and power cord. I would plug just the power cord in and turn it on and I would get just a rapid fire of flashes. It would somtimes settle down and work fine but when I shut power off and started it again it would be the same rapid fire. I have since used a can of air and blew out the little dust that had built up in the housing and when I turned it back on it seemed better only a couple of flashes. I again cleaned with air and it seems to be alright now, I will know tomorrow when I turn it on if it still persists... I will say I love the unit and have had 0 problems up to this first bulb change... Thank you Steve |

I just had the same thing happen in a session this morning. The light worked fine for the first 20 minutes of the session (and the last year and a half) - then it just started going and firing like crazy. I changed the light bulb with no luck. The powercord was in and I had it attached to the cybersync. It has never done this before. It seems to have fired fine again after my clients left. Do you know what could have caused this? How can I prevent this from happening again? Thank you, Heather |

Heather- If this is with a lone light, or with multiple lights that all fire and all fire simultaneously, I would suspect the battery in the CST as being low. If you press the CST test button, the LED will not blink or blink 3 times if the battery is low or bad. A good battery will result in a single LED blink. A low battery can also result in rapid firing. |

OK...new issue or maybe part of the rapid firing. I don't know. I changed the batteries in the transmitter and it worked great when I fired it a couple of times. Then it turned off...when I went to turn it on, it wouldn't turn on. I tried it again and it blew up and a big puff of smoke came out. Help????? What happened? Did I do something? TY Heather |

No, you did nothing wrong. I can't say if the two are related or not. I would, however, give Customer Service a call. They will be able to let you know what steps to take to get this corrected. 1-800-443-5542 info@paulcbuff.com |
