Is there any way to make the "ready beep" louder on my Einsteins? When working in a crowded environment where the modeling lights are off, it's difficult, at best, to determine when they've recycled for the next shot.

There is not a way to turn up the volume, however, I will bring it to the attention of the design team.

I agree with the need for increased volume. The ready tone is very quiet and much quieter than the Profoto Acutes I have rented in the past. Most heads seem to have pretty loud ready beeps.

I just bought a couple EINSTEINs and I agree the beeps should be louder. Seems like something that could be changed via a firmware update.

Any plans for such a change?

Thanks,

No, it is not something doable with firmware. Just like a car's speakers, there is only so much juice you can feed into it without doing damage. A speaker with a higher rating would be required, as would a new buzzer in Einstein. Our engineers are aware of the requests.

As of now, we cannot say if or when a louder buzzer will be available.

Louder beeper and quieter but higher cooling capacity are both on the way, but will take some time to get into production.

What'll it cost to upgrade our existing light fans? Those 7" dishes get SUPER HOT=-)

I'm afraid it's not likely we will be able to do an affordable upgrade for these improvements, as the changes involve new versions of three of the four internal circuit boards plus a redesigned front end accessory attachment mount. Essentially a new version in many regards.

Perhaps we might consider putting up a Buff user to user equipment sales/trade section here, but if we should decide on something like that we could not be responsible for transactions, and sellers would have to offer buyers some sort of return privilege if buyers didn't receive what they were promised. Something to think about.

Again, no release date available yet.

Hmmm- Any chance of working with customers that have units still under warranty? The 4- lights I bought just a few months ago are great, but the fan noise is definitetly annoying and seems to do little as far as keeping things cool.

The unit should be able to cool properly. If it is not, we will certainly take a look at it under warranty, and correct any problems that are preventing it from staying cool.
