Post subject: | Sony Flash and Einstein |
Hi All, Obviously new to the forum. I currently shoot with an A77, Sony 58am x 2 and Sony 43am. I just purchased an Einstein and Cyber Commander and the receiver. I am looking for the best way to use two flashes and the einstein in sync. I know the flashes will be manual and I can purchase the CSRB+ to hook up to the 58ams. Would it be possible to run the cyber commander out of the pc sync port and then run a flash on camera with TTL to another TTL Flash? I'm looking for various options to see what would be best. Primarily wedding usage! Thanks! |

Yes, it is possible to run the CC from the PC port of the camera. I would recommend using the CST connected to the PC port, since that would be less bulky. The CST will still trigger the lights as they are set via the CC. If you mix TTL lights with manual lights, you will likely need to set a -EV on the speedlites. This method is not usually recommended, but it is possible. I would suggest extensive testing before using this for real. |

I don't plan on using ttl, just was interested to see if it would be possible! I will most likely run the cyber commander in the hot shoe, and purchase a csrb to run into the speedlights and adjust manually. |

While you cannot adjust the speedlites via the Cyber Commander, if you get the CSRB+'s you will be able to independently meter the speedlites, as well as separate them into groups. If you use basic CSRB's, then you will only be able to meter them as part of the whole set up, and they will only fire as part of a whole set up (i.e. not groupable). Similarly, the CSRB+'s will allow you to disable a speedlite remotely (it wont turn it off, but it will keep it from firing), where the basic CSRB's won't. Incidentally, flashzebra.com has some products which may be useful to you when connecting remotes to Sony products. |
