- Einstein
- Cyber Commander
- CyberSync

Nikon D800/D4

- I would like to set power on one light, and test it by creating an exposure and looking at it, but for some reason I can not figure out how to do it. Am I wrong, you can only meter individual lights, and not but the method i describe? I cant figure it out. I have searched the forums and can not find an answer.
Thank you.

When in ALL or CH01-CH16, all lights which are ON will fire via the hotshoe or PC connection or via a separate CST. In order to selectively fire one or more lights, you will need to set up a group which contains the lights you wish to fire. The instructions on groups can be found in our new manual on pg 48-49: http://www.paulcbuff.com/manuals/cc.pdf

Alternatively, you can turn individual lights on or off in the LIGHT SETTINGS menu, thought that would be more time consuming in the long run.

I thought I would tell you how i set this up:

I created 7 groups, as I have only 3 Einsteins
- GRP1: Key
- GRP2: Rear L
- GRP3: Rear R
- GRP4: Rear L & Rear R
- GRP5: Key & Rear L
- GRP6: Key & Rear R
- GRP7: Key & Rear L & Rear R
- GRP8: <undefined>

This enables me to test light through exposures via camera by selection the GRP that corresponds the light(s) that i want to test

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction

Interesting, on Saturday I was using my 2 Einstein's and one 580 EXII (CSRB+), with a Cybercommander, and when I select channel 16, it only fires that light. The only way I could get it to fire all of the lights was with "ALL" selected. I'm new to using Cybercommander/Cybersync.

Via the test/meter buttons, only the selected channel will fire. Via the hotshoe or PC connection, all will fire regardless.

The exception is if you select a group (GRP). When in a group, only channels assigned to the group will fire via the buttons or hotshoe/PC. If you were in ALL and scrolled once to the left, you would enter the groups settings (GRP8, specifically) rather than revolving to CH16.

Incidentally, which light is "that light". Is it the speedlite? If so, make sure you have the light defined as Speedlite via the SPEC LIGHTS screen (if you have done this "speedlite" will appear in blue in the lower right when selected). To do this follow the steps on the bottom of pg30 and top of pg 31 in the manual: http://www.paulcbuff.com/manuals/cc.pdf
If the speedlite is not defined, it may trigger at times when it is not intended.
