White shoot through or white bounce? It is likely a slave eye issue where the white translucent material will pass light through to the slave eye, where the silver is opaque and block it. Most of the 10,000K's had slave eyes in the front, but a few near the end of the production cycle had them in the rear. It is possible that this could occur regardless if the silver umbrella was on slave (directly blocking the slave eye) or on the master (directing the light in a tighter beam, which may not spread to the slave eye of the other light). Switching which light you run a cord to, or moving one of the lights forward or back may solve the problem, which is inherent to the line of sight optical triggering method.
Thank You for the response:
A: White Bounce.
And don't believe it was an issue of shoot thru blocking the eye. I made two changes, one moved the flash cord to the other unit, no change, and changed out silver to white.
