I've got a Vagabond II that is whirring while plugged in. I can hear it from twenty feet away. Is that normal? I haven't used one before so I'm a little concerned.

I made a poor recording of the sound with my phone and uploaded it to https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15510347/DV-20 ... 182213.m4a. It's not a very loud recording but your computer has amplified speakers you should be able to hear it.

It sounds like the charging system working, and normal. This is typical of charging a very low battery, and it will subside as the charge approaches full.

Hi there,

Thanks for the answer. Sorry about the delay in replying. I'm just catching up on messages after the holiday season.

Is it normal that it whirs ALL the time and that the whiring sound changes when you shift around the charging system?

Unfortunately, the sound is very difficult to hear. However, there are two sounds that you may be hearing. One would be the somewhat electric whine that should dissipate with a completing charge. The other would be a fan, that could change sounds when the unit is shifted. As for constantly going, some build versions of the VII do have a constant fan that may run at all times when plugged in.
