Hello,
I recently bought an Einstein E640. I received the package today.
when I press the "test" button, no flash. do you think this is the flashtube does not work? how do I get the warranty?

I presume you are trying from the test button on the light itself? It is possible it is the flash tube. Do you see any cracks or breaks in the flash tube or the flash tube legs? With the unit unplugged for 10 minutes and using a clean cloth, press down over each leg to ensure the tube is fully seated in the flash head.

Does the unit act like it is firing, i.e. the red screen appears for a few seconds, and may beep when recycled?

For warranty service, you will need to contact the distributor from whom it was purchased.

YES the red screen appears for a few seconds and i hear the beep.
everything seems to be ok. except that there is no flash.

If you have other Einsteins, you can swap the tubes to see if the problem follows the tube or the head. Otherwise, you can listen for a click from the front of the unit when you try to trigger it. If you hear a faint click, it is probably the flash tube. If you cannot hear a click, it may still be the tube, or it could be a problem in the head.
