I was told that once the Einstein 640 was set, powering it off would allow the Einstein to retain all of the settings. When the MC-2 is attached, the modeling light if set to on, will not come on after the unit is powered back on. I have to manually turn on the modeling light. All of the units have the latest release of firmware. Can you duplicate that in your systems? If so, can this bug be fixed? |

Hey, I have recieved your email, and looking into now. From the limited testing I can do, I am not able to reproduce that characteristic. By design and in my testing, the model lamp should return to its previous state when powered up, unless instructed to do so by a commanding device (i.e. Cyber Commander or, in this case, the Pocket Wizard). Pull the MC2 out of the unit and see if the model lamp comes back on after a power cycle. If it does, then it is a settings issue in the Pocket Wizard. If not, then there is a problem with the light (unlikely). If there is a settings issue, then I will need to defer you to LPA for technical assistance, as they are the manufacturer of these remotes, and are better able to assist you. Any firmware changes would be made via the remotes. |

As you suspected, after removing the MC2, the Einstein returns to normal function. It's a minor annoyance but I have sent an email to LPA advising them of my finding. |
