Hi again, Tech Support:

I am using some inexpensive wireless remote triggers for my White Lightning WL10Kseries lights. They appear to be 12 Volt triggers (at least for the hotshoe). They have a 1/8th inch sync out, which I plug into a 1/4 inch adapter and plug into the back of my WL10K lights.

I am not 100% sure what the voltage is when using the 1/8th sync out on the trigger, but is it likely that I would damage my lights using this trigger? (The triggers run on a pair of AA batteries.)

And would you have any guess if I might damage my trigger?

And finally, can you tell me the trigger voltages of the White Lightning Ultra series lights as well? I hope to pick up a used one or two.

Thanks in advance.

Early 5 and 10K's with no reset or with a red reset button had 120V sync voltage. Later ones with a black or green reset had 24V sync voltages. The Ultras had <9V sync voltage.

The remotes will not damage the lights. However, if the sync voltage of a light is too high, it could feasibly damage the receiver, or the receiver would not work at all.

Thank you.

I am pretty sure that my WL10K have the green reset button. It is a relief to know that the lights won't be damaged by the receivers.
