I noticed that the tightener screw thingy at the top has split on one side on my Einstein. This is the thing you tighten when using an Umbrella. I've probably been over tightening :( Do I need to send in for repair? How long you reckon will it take to fix? I've only got 1 (so far) so kind of hard to live without.

Thanks,

Jeff

Yes, it will need to come in. I would estimate a week-ish, but you will probably need to check with repair when it is sent in for an up to date estimate.

I've had this happen to two units. One to a version 1 unit that was swapped out. The second was a V2 unit and I'm waiting for enough time to turn it for repair. The mount seems particularly fragile, but maybe I'm the only one having this issue.

That's what I thought on our first one. But it happened again even being aware of the issue. I just wish it was more robust as we never had the problem with our older WL1600s. If I were the only person using the lights I could probably manage it, but we have other folks doing jobs with them and its just too easy for them to "over tighten" too.

I had same problem with one that was only 2 months old. I had only used an umbrella with it a couple times and was very gentle tightening the thumb screw. I think the weight stress of a larger umbrella itself can be the cause.

I have the same issue and can't afford to send mines in. This is a big issue as i've seen others with this problem and I would think this could be something that could be offered by just selling the top cover that goes over the unit but I guess thats not an option.

No, we cannot sell or send the top cover. This would require opening the unit, which can be hazardous if done incorrectly. As well, it is complex to get everything aligned properly, ad would cause the warranty to be voided.

However, the light would be covered under warranty if sent to us.

How much are we looking at in order to get this done?
