Hi All, I'm a week away from purchasing 4 Einstein lights and some modifiers. I am only confused on what light triggering system i should get. I already know that the cyber commander can adjust 16 Einsteins at once and it can be used as a light meter. But I already have the Sekonic 758 and am not buying another meter. My main question is how do i know the differences in the transmitters, recievers, transceivers, ect. What should i buy if i don't want to get another light meter such as the cyber commander. I also want to use my Sekonic in conjunction with the tranceivers/ whatever I will be buying. Any suggestions or advice would be a great help Thanks Greg |

For Einsteins, you will want the CSXCV. This will allow remote control of power and other parameters, as well as triggering. It is the most functional and least expensive option for Einstein. A basic CST would be used for basic triggering. No power adjustments are available. If you want power adjustment, then you will need the Cyber Commander. Some people use the Cyber Commander in lieu of the CST, some use it in conjunction. If there are other flash units you want to trigger, then you might use any of the other receivers, depending on the type of light, and what functions you want. |

This has been a slight bone of contention with myself also. I think short of what has been suggested above here. Your stuck with the on/off method (as I am here) whereas I remove the CC to gauge my ratios light by light. Triggering as I measure along. I would hope that Sekonic would see fit to contact PCB and arrange some sort of an agreement to better integrate the 758DR with the E640 line of lights. It would be a matter of making the module to fit the meter and that's it. The CC, albeit a great tool in allowing individual light output to be adjusted is a tad frustrating in that you have to have it off shoe in order to read & adjust...Only to be placed back ON the shoe to fire. So a lot of on & off. I'm not sure what the best solution to this would be, but whatever it is. I can't see it adding a ton to the bottom line cost of the CC itself, and it really is one of it's biggest short-comings. Just my opinion. |

You can leave a basic CST on camera, while the Cyber Commander is used off camera for metering and/or adjusting. This is our typical recommendation, and not really that much different than a dedicated PW on camera and a dedicated PW in the Sekonic. |
