Post subject: | Protective case for CSXCV |
Hello, I have just purchased the wonderful Einstein lights. I also opted to get the CSXCV, CTS, and ordered the Cyber Commander. My concern is that the pins on the CSXCV might get damaged during transport. I currently do location photography about 95% of the time and would like to know if there are plans to offer a protective case for the CSXCV? This would be great for guys like myself....... :D |

We do not have any immediate plans for a CSXCV case. However, the pins are fairly durable, and with reasonable handling should last. I have seen small Pellican cases, small cell phone cases, memory card wallets, etc. used to transport them. |

I'm just afraid that with each of my settings comes a new location. With all of the movement I don't want Murphy Law to go into effect....   |

FWIW, I just use a piece of foam. Just jam all the CSXCV's into it, rubber band it, then stuff it into a plastic ziplock bag. |

These work really well. I also keep AAA's in there for my commander http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/control ... &A=details |

The PocketWizard PowerMC2 product has a rubber pin protector cap that comes in the packaging for the CSXCV. You can also purchase those protective coverings separately directly from PocketWizard. It is a tad expensive, ($5 each plus shipping) but they fit perfectly. |

I use a Pelican model 1050 waterproof case. Plenty of room for a half dozen CSXCV Einstein transceivers, the CST camera-top trigger, and Cyber Commander, plus extra batteries. A good investment for $15. Plenty of other sizes are available. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Waterproof-Cases/Ns/p_PRICE_2%7c0/ci/4458/pn/2/N/4232860878 |

I don't worry about a case for the device. I just put a piece of Velcro on it with a matching piece on the bottom surface of the light where it gets some protection from the mount. I just slap the transceiver to the light and slide the light into a soft-its soft-sided bag. Done. |

This is something I picked up a my local Fry's. I cut out some styrofoam and placed it in the sections. I also put in some fuses in there as well. ;) I believe this is the manufacturer page for it. https://www.flambeaucases.com/index.php ... ails/T1002 ![]() |
