I have a Nikon D1x and I have tried to use it in conjunction with a cyber commander and my Einsteins. If either the camera or the cyber commander goes into sleep mode, I have to turn the camera off unseat the CC, then re-seat in order for it to trigger.

I like being able to use my D1x because I can sync it down to 1/1000 sec and still get full brightness.

That is odd. The trigger circuit in the CC is in a constant state of ready. There is no off or on or sleep mode. This is a different circuit than the test buttons and LCD screen, which do have a sleep mode.

Does this happen with other devices in the hot shoe, or with the CC in another camera? Are you connecting only via the foot or only via the PC cord? are you using anything else in the hot shoe, like a speedlite, then connection to the speedlites PC terminal?

The CC triggers without issue with my D2Xs, D700, D300 and my D200.
I am currently only using the hotshoe to sync the CC to my D1x

I am at a loss. It sounds like an issue specific to the camera, and I am not familiar enough with that camera to even begin to guess.
