Post subject:  AlienBee 1600 Not Working

I have a relatively new (couple of years) old B1600. It is barley used, maybe 500 pictures. I was using it with the 35" octobox. I accidentally tipped it over onto the table I was using for product shots. So, it tipped maybe 4 feet and landed on the octobox... pretty gently actually.

The flash stopped working. I thought the flash tube might have gone kaput, so without looking at it first :( I ordered a new tube. I replaced the tube and still did not work. So, now investigated a little more and see that the flash OK light does not come on. I know the power outlet is good because I used a different flash on it.

Is there something easy that I am missing here? It seems like a small tip over like this should not cause the whole unit to stop working. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you are getting a red power switch, and no green OK light, that will be an internal issue that will need to come in. Please visit this link for more information on our repair policies.

I am having a similar issue with my SB400.
it stopped firing during a shoot...I thought it was the tube, ordered a new tube, and turns out that did not fix. Looking at it further. the lights OK and Dump only briefly light up when first turning on the unit. After that the flash will not trigger, not even when pressing the test button.
Would this also mean a repair?

If you are not getting a green OK light, that means the caps are not charging. Yes, this will require a repair.
