I am looking to add a second Zeus 2500 to fire a Bi Tube flash head at 5000ws. The Zeus instruction manual states that only the Primary pack needs to be synced. How is the secondary pack triggered? Is it triggered through the B cable or via the optical slave?

I use Radio Poppers and have grown quite fond of controlling the flash output of my PCB flashes with the JRx Studio receivers triggered by PX or JRx transmitters. If I triggered the primary pack with a JRx Studio receiver, via the RJ-11 jack, would I be able to control the flash output of both Zeus packs?

The triggering of the "B" pack is done through the existing cabling, not by the optical slave. To control output via RP's, you will need a reciever for each pack as the RJ11 circuitry does not travel through the "B" cable. Ideally, you would use them as a group, meaning any control to one would be duplicated by the otehr simultaneously.

Thanks for that information. I thought about using a 4pin phone splitter (two into one adapter) and just using one RP JRx Studio receiver to control both packs. I just wanted to make sure that connecting to the RJ-11 jack on the B (secondary) pack was not going to create problems, with the triggering of that pack, if it was also being fed triggering information via the B cable from the primary pack.

No, connecting via the B cable RJ11 will not cause problems. You can connect 1 CSR/B+ reciever, and split the jack like you said. I can only assume the same will work with radio poppers.

Thanks again. I will try it with a 1250 and a 2500 first before buying a second 2500 just to make sure it works as I envision. I now understand better what is actually taking place when two packs are firing one bi tube head plus I have piece of mind that I will not smoke one of my packs.

I just unpacked my Zeus 2500 BT and two 2500 packs. I spent the first day test firing in my studio to get the feel. I used a Cybersync CSR+ on the A pack, and a Cybersync CST or Cyber Commander to trigger. All was well at first. But later the the A pack went into permanent dump mode and couldn't fire. I had a similar problem with CST before. When the battery goes low, the receiving flash fires continuously.

So I removed the battery and same problem. I unplugged the CSR+ and the A pack returned to normal. Is there a known issue with the CSR+ with 2500 pack? I have another CSR+, just not handy or i would test it.

It sounds like you are using the telephone cord to connect the receiver to the pack and not using a Cyber Commander. If this is the case, remove the telephone cord and use the 1/8 to 1/4 cable that was included with the receiver.
