I'm trying to understand the advantages of this as opposed to just using the CyberCommander, which can be used as a flash meter, a remote Einstein control, and an ambient light meter.
I've heard it before, too, about the ease of use and/or intuitiveness of the CyberCommander, and I have come to believe it is like any other sophiticated photographic device: invest in learning and practice and follow that up with regular use, and it becomes an invaluable tool. It's made so many things easier and possible for me that were not before that I actually own two of them - just like owning two or more bodies for failover.
Is it a perfect device? No, but who has made one of those yet? But if you haven't sat down with the CC for a couple of hours to truly learn adding/removing lights, frequency, channels, groups, the flash meter, how to use it as an ambient light meter, saving settings, loading settings, etc., then your opinion of it will probably not be favorable.
Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
