I just received my E640 the other day. The modeling light is always on and when I got to turn it off if I touch the shutter button (I use a Canon 5D Mark III and pocketwizard transceivers) the modeling light comes back on. I just want to be able to trigger the flash without the modeling light. I have been able to pull it off once or twice through playing with the easy set button, but it is not consistent. Is there a way to sync the E640 and my camera to trigger the flash without the modeling light on? Thanks, Nick |

This is a function of the remote control system. There should be an option for model lamp control in the Pocket Wizard software. Since this is a remote function, any specifics will need to be directed to Pocket Wizard (802-658-0038 x572). |

Hello modeling lamp of one E640 wont stay on. It is turned on but wont stay on. After the flash is triggered the modeling lamp will turn on for very small amount of time and shuts off. I have restarted the unit, reset all the function still no result. Also the light will give a recharge beep only when set to full power. Recharge indicator on the unit stays red no matter what i do. What can i do ? |

First, are you using a remote? If so, what kind? Also, remove the remote and see if the characteristics change. Second, is the model lamp set to be a recycle indicator? If so, and the light is not recycling, then I would not expect it to come on. Lastly, if there are no remotes plugged in, and there is no green ready light, then there is an issue in the head beyond the modeling lamp. This will need to come in for repair. |
