Hi

Is there any reason why I could not use a vagabond mini to charge a laptop
or other low energy devices

Max output is 120W, whether or not you have the 120VAC or 240VAC model of Vagabond Mini. If whatever you use is over 120W, you will run the (strong) risk of overheating the unit and it shutting down.

Most laptops should be fine, however, the run time of a laptop on a VML will vary from computer to computer and usage.
