Are there older models of White Lightening strobes? ones that would have cost around $250 new? If so, do they have the same mount as the current system?

Thanks

There are several older model White Lighting lights that vary in cost.

The Ultra, Ultra Zap, and Zap 1000 lines all take the current faceplate modifiers, and look more or less similar to the current X-series lights (i.e. long and square).

The WL 10,000 and WL 5,000 are round, short, white lights, often colloquially referred to as "Paint cans" or "coffee can" lights. These were the original lights, and do not take the same faceplate modifiers as the rest of our lights. We do have a few modifiers that fit these lights, but not nearly as many. Our barndoors and GS1 grid fit directly, and we have a speedring (it is actually a cross), for rectangular softboxes.

Thank you. It is the WL 10,000 I found out. I went ahead and bought one (cheap)...I figured with a PLM coming today, I could use it with that, at the very least....
It did not come with a cable though, I had one for a different strobe that fit. Anything I should be concerned about, or it should be ok as long as it fits?
