I am planning to buy a speedring to bolt onto an SP Studio Systems background projector. I need something that is as close to a flat front as possible, so it will attach easily. I think the moon unit speedring is the closest to what I have in mind. Any other suggestions? |

The Moon Unit speedring is designed for our Moon Unit softboxes to mount to our ring flash and is about 8" internal diameter. Maybe the PLM speedring cage? You can take the rods off of it....? http://www.paulcbuff.com/plm.php (7th product down) |

I may also look in the hardware store for something with a 3.5" opening that is 1/8" thick. |

I would imagine that it takes an interchangeable speedring. Simply purchasing a compatible speedring would be easier than manufacturing something. If you have any of our soft boxes or standard speed rings, you can try the inner plates to get the correct size. |

It's proprietary with no speedring. I ended up gluing a sliver of a 3" PVC coupling to it, which was initially too thick for mounting. After notching in four places with a Dremel, it fits solidly on the Zeus and the Einstein. |
