Post subject:  Einstein Power Cord Gauge Requirement

I would like to buy an 8 foot replacement power cord for my Einsteins. To minimize the weight I would like to purchase the smallest gauge possible. What is the absolute smallest gauge cord possible while meeting the current requirement for an 8 foot length ?

We would recommend a 14AWG cord.

Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming that AWG affects the resistance of the wire while the total length affects the capacitance. Thus the length and gauge affects the RC time constant of the wire load which determines the recycle time from the battery pack. With an 8 foot cord I'm assuming the recycle time between 18AWG and 14AWG will be negligible. Please correct me if my assumptions are wrong.

Sorry, I mis-read your first post. I read it as a short extension cord rather than a replacement to the UPC15 actual power cord. This can be as small as 18AWG, and yes, the recycle times would be negligible vs. a 14AWG.
