I have used a friends cybersync and alian bee 800, but decided to just buy my own. I have never had a problem using hers in the past. I have a Receiver CSR and a transmitter. I have:

-Plugged in power
-Connected the cable from the receiver to the light (each time I unplug it, the light flashes- which is good according to the manual)
-Put my transmitter in my hotshoe
- Receiver and transmitter are on the same channel

Neither the test button on the receiver or the transmitter will fire the flash. Wondered if my transmitter might have a bad battery- so I was going to head into town later to buy a new one, but in the meantime I thought I'd check here. I would think that even if the transmitter needs a new battery, the receiver test button should at least fire the flash right? The receiver is blinking red really fast. Right when I connect it, it is green for a split second and then goes straight to red. From what I can tell in the manual- it should be green? What am I doing wrong? What else can I check?

PLEASE HELP!

Change the frequency on the reciever only. Does the LED continue to blink red, or does it go green?

Press the test button on the transmitter. How many times does its LED blink red?

It continues to blink red. The transmitter blinks once when I press the test button.

Remove the power cord from the receiver and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Plug it back in and see if the blinking continues. You may also want to try a different power outlet. If neither of these work, the receiver will likely need to be replaced.

Bummer! Still didn't work. I just got it in the mail yesterday. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Thank you!
