My Einstein will power up, the fan comes on, and it says it is ready. After tripping a breaker, it won't fire and there is no modeling light. Is it possible that the flash tube and the modeling light are both bad? Is there a good way to test to see if I just need to replace both?

Does the test fire button on the back do anything?

This will likely be an internal fault, however, you can look at the model lamp and see if it is bad. Usually the filament is visibly broken when bad. You can also look for visible breaks in the flash tube.

If you have another E640, or have spares, you can swap bulbs to see if the unit will continue to work.

You can order new bulbs to try, but it is unlikely to resolve the problem.
