Post subject:  Modeling Lamp Not Turning on with New Einstein

Hey Everyone,

I tried searching the forum, reading the manual, tinkering and I still can't figure out how to get the modeling lamp to turn on.

Ideas what I could be doing wrong?

When the Einstein has the top big window highlighted in blue, press the Function to highlight the MODEL window (This is the left hand middle sized window). Does this window say anything other than OFF? If it says OFF, press the arrow up or down button to select a different mode. Depending on the mode selected, and other settings applied, the model lamp should come on, but the brightness can vary.

If the MODEL window says anything except OFF, and you have a green ready light in the window to the right, then the model lamp is most likely bad and needs to be replaced.

It looks like I was doing everything correct before based on what you wrote in your message. It appears the model lamps are bad in both units.

These are brand new units that I received yesterday. Is this common for the lamps not to work like this?

No. It is not common for the model lamps to go bad like that. Give customer service a call (or email) and they will replace those for you.

If those for some reason should not work, let us know, and we may need to do more trouble shooting.

Customer service is sending me modeling bulbs but I don't think this is the issue. Should I update the firmware?
