I read that it is not okay to touch the modeling lamp and flash tubes with your bare fingers as the oils of your skin can cause massive heat buildup that leads to explosion.

My question is... what about the frosted pyrex dome? I have touched it a few times and now I'm worried about heat build-up. Should I clean it with some rubbing alcohol?

The dome doesn't get anywhere near as hot a the flashtube or modeling lamp, so it's not a big issue. But cleaning it with alcohol or even Windex is a good idea as long as you dry it good before using.
