I just got two 64" extreme silver PLMs with my package order and was wondering if using those with the WDF is comparable to the large octaboxes created by other companies? The PLMs are vastly cheaper and seem to provide a very pleasing light so far. Thoughts?

Yes, this would be a similar look. The only exception will be a soft/octabox will typically have a provision for a grid.
