I'm looking at buying an AB set-up, and would like the CC, CST, CSB+ gear! but may need to start with the basics in this 1st studio venture...

So, my question is, after realizing the D610 has no sync port...

what do I need to use (an SLF or HSAA??) to go the ugly wired way to get started ...

I didn't see this in a quick search on the forums, and I know if I push the button on buying the gear I will have a lot more D610 and AB questions, especially if I do buy the cool CC, CSB+, CST gadgets now

Thanks, Keith

For reference, the HSA is for use on camera to provide a PC port.

I prefer to use optical triggering. (But then I shoot indoors, in relatively small spaces).

The cheapest way is to set the pop-up flash to minimum power and use that to trigger the ABs. No extra gadgets needed, no extra cost, no ugly wires. IME the contribution from the pop-up flash is unnoticable, but if that's a concern, then the next step up is the Nikon SG31 ir widget to block the visible light from the pop-up flash. Or a cheap chinese IR trigger.
