Speedring and beauty dish adaptor for Einstein 640

Post subject:  Speedring and beauty dish adaptor for Einstein 640
Trying to understand how to mount my softboxes and beauty dishes on Einstein. Not very self-explanatory from the product description.
I already have Elinchromes and S-type/Bowens. Will those fit? If not, what do I need to buy? Also, do I need a specific high speed trigger/receiver to get to those flash speeds (above 1/2,000) or any trigger/receiver will do?

Our lights use the Balcar mounting system. When purchasing an adapter, it may be listed as Balcar, WhiteLightning, AlienBee,Paul Buff, Buff, or any combination of the above. This mount is not interchangeable with any other.

Flash duration and sync speed are two different things. the flash duration at a given power level will be the same, regardless of your shutter speed. However, you are limited to your x-sync speed in order to get a full frame of exposure from our lights. In other words, they are not HSS capable. Any remote or sync cord will work.

I understand it will work in principle, but will it critically delay the signal transmission? My understanding is that some transmitters can impose a limitation on how fast the flash goes off. Even if my shutter speed is say 1/2,000, my flash goes off at 1/4,000, my image may still be dark because there was a delay in triggering the flash. In this regard, do I need any specific trigger/receiver set in order for Einstein to work at high shutter speeds and short flash durations?

There is a latency in the CyberSyncs of 1/4000s. This latency will allow shutter speeds up to 1/2500s on cameras that have an x-sync speed that high. Typically, DSLR's are not capable of this type of synchronization.

Some older Nikon DSLR's have a global shutter, though you typically find point and shoot cameras and cameras with a leaf shutter as the ones that can sync this high. Most DSLR cameras will sync between 1/160 and 1/250.


In any case, a shutter speed faster than the flash duration will truncate the power of the flash.
