Post subject: | Two photographers triggering with cyber commanders |
Hello, I'm shooting with a partner at an event and I'm wondering if I can use two cyber commanders at the same time? Firing the same Einsteins. I already have two cyber commanders. If we both were configuring the lights sequentially would a cyber commander be updated to reflect the other users changes - or would the system simply push the second users static setting over the modified setting on the lights the next time they fired? Thanks |

If both Cyber Commanders were set identically, there would not be a problem. If one had different settings than the other, then there would be a conflict. As one changes a light, the other would not be updated to the change (unless you did an OPEN FROM STUDIO routine). Conversely, simply firing the Cyber Commander would not send an update signal. Even if it did, the change would not be instantaneous, and the light would be at the incorrect setting. However, if one person was using the light, and the other person hit refresh, made a change, changed channels, etc, then the light would refresh to that commander's settings. If you are wanting to share lights, only one Cyber Commander should make changes to settings. The other photographer (or both photographers) can use a CST in the hotshoe for triggering. If no CST is available, you can define the lights as MONOLIGHT. This will disable the Cyber Commander from making power adjustments (though all parameters in the LIGHT SETTINGS screen are still active). To define the light as MONOLIGHT, go to SETUP>SPEC LIGHTS>OTHER>MONOLIGHT. |
