Cannot find anything on the old White Lightning Ultra series guide numbers at full power. Looked in the online manual and nothing there either.

I thought abut upgrading to the Einstien 640 for less weight and I used an Ultra 600 in a large softbox outdoors in bright sun as a fill, and it didn't get there. Shadows much too dark (Same for a Nikon SB-900 which was awful at full power fill in the box - aside from it overheating and needing a cooling off period of 15 minutes.).

So I went up to the Ultra 1200 and got a decent fill at f/11 with the box, but I was full power.

Question: "Is the Einstien equivalent to the Ultra 600 or the Ultra 1200 on output?"

Anything on the Ultra 1800 too might help if it is the same as the current X3200 in terms of output.

Tia.

Guide Numbers are dependent on the modifier used. Guide numbers for various flash powers with various modifiers can be found here: http://www.paulcbuff.com/output.php

These are with the newer lights, but should nor be dramatically different with the older lights with similar power.

The actual power of the Ultra 600, 1200, and 1800 was 320, 640, and 920Ws, respectively.
