Hi,
i got a problem with my VM.

I can start it. All the green leds are OK.
But when i plug my Einstein640, with the OEM wire, the einstein doesn't start.
I can only start it if i add an adaptator between to VM and the OEM wire.
Once the Einstein started, i can't get the green "ready" on the LCD panel, and i can't pop the flash.

On the adaptator between the VM and the OEM wire, there are leds. One of those indicate a "surge" error.

Any suggestion ?

Thank you,
Teiki.

It is likely a fault in the battery pack itself.

Do you have another battery pack to swap into the unit to see if the problem persists?

Do you have a different flash to try?

Does the adapter allow the light to work properly?

I think the "surge" indicator is not abnormal, as the recycle power draw of the light can be rather high and sudden, and is often confused as a surge by monitoring devices. This does not mean there is not a problem, but this is probably not an indicator.
