I am planning to buy more Einsteins in the near future and was wondering what would take place of the PowerMC2 now that is has been discontinued.

As of the moment, my setup consists of a FlexTT5 for triggering, PowerMC2 for receiving, and a Sekonic L-478DR for controlling zones and power output.

If I need the CTL functionality, would that mean that I need to attach a FlexTT5 to every additional Einstein unit?

While it is true we are not currently selling the MC2, it is not our product and we cannot discontinue it as a product.

I cannot speak on behalf of Pocket Wizard, but I imagine they will correct the problem and continue selling the MC2.

MC2 is the only CTL capable remote for Einstein. There is no control interface between the TT5 and Einstein, so you would only get triggering features AFAIK. Again, PocketWizard would be the ones to ask for a full rundown of limitations.

Thanks for your input. I have just sent an email to Pocketwizard for further details.

I just saw that B&H has the PowerMC2 in stock:

Thank you for this! I was not aware that any vendor besides Paul Buff sold the PowerMC2. This helps me a ton. :D

I've been emailing PocketWizard for quite some time, and it was always "check back in a couple months." I just got an email from B&H today, and was surprised to see the PowerMC2 available, so I had to post about it.

I'm going to pick up one more.
